Musical

Dear Baby Bird,

You have always loved music, but lately you love to sing songs while playing at the piano. You especially like to look through the Raffi music books and find pictures that look like songs you know.

Every night before bed we sing "Foxes Sleep Forest," which is our version of Good Night Irene.

Foxes sleep in the forest
Lions sleep in their dens
Goats sleep on the mountainside, and
Piggies sleep in their pens.

Whales sleep in the ocean
Zebras sleep on land
Hippos sleep on the riverside, and
Camels sleep on sand

Coyotes sleep in the canyon
Birdies sleep in trees
And when it's time for you to rest
Your bed's the place to be.

AJ, Good Night; AJ, Good Night
Good night, AJ; Good night, AJ
I'll see you in my dreams.

Love,
Mom

Wedding Fun

Dear Baby Bird,

Today, mom's cousin got married, so we all got to get dressed up and see our family.

You and Brother were very handsome!
You were a little bit shy at first, but you warmed right up and had a great time.

You especially liked blowing bubbles and taking Uncle Dave for a walk. You had a lot to tell him, but I don't know how much he understood beside "school" and "sucker treat." You told us "Uncle Dave say Uh-huh."

Aedenn was so nice to bring his toys along for you to play with at the wedding. Uncle Jake liked playing with them, too.

We even got a family photo with Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Karina and Uncle Jake. Then it was time to send you home for a sleepover with them.

 Love,
Mom

Just like Brother

Dear Baby Bird,
Today is your big brother's 7th birthday. You are learning so much from him, and you laugh for him in a way you don't laugh for anyone else. He is definitely your hero!

Fortunately for you, he shares his things with you, including letting you help with LEGOs a bit.

And then sometimes he just wants to do his own building, so you and I go outside to play and you imitate him playing baseball.

Sure is fun watching you two grow up together!
Love,
Mom

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Dear Baby Bird,
Although Brother and Dad and I have all made it to Brewers games this year and last, you haven't been to a game since you were really tiny.

Tonight we got to go to the game to celebrate Brother's birthday.

Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Karina and Uncle Jake came along.

You liked watching everything around, pointed out the "rifles, canons, fireworks," and we took a few nice walks to explore the park.

It was a really fun night, even if the Brewers didn't win.

Love,
Mom
