Happy Birthday Awesome

Dear Baby Bird,

Happy 2nd Birthday!
Nana and the Naperville Torres crew came to visit for your birthday.  Your backpack was "awesome"!
Nana gave you some gifts including this mini soccer ball.
Here's you blowing out candles on cupcakes.
The whole posse flashing some big twos.
A trip to the bedroom, you insisted on wearing fireman hats.
"School bus" "Backpack"... and you're ready for school... soon enough.

Love,
Daddy

Strawberry Picking

Dear Baby Bird,
Brother is staying with Grandma and Grandpa this week, so you're the only child at home!
This morning was the first day of strawberry picking, so as soon as we finished breakfast, you and I jumped in the car and went to our favorite farm.

You were excited to see Strawberries and the Farm and ride the Tractor.

You definitely ate more than you put into the box, but we still picked about 5 pounds and had a great time!

Love,
Mom

Father's Day

Dear Baby Bird,

Today is Father's Day. We started with breakfast in bed for Dad.

You and Daddy got to sit and read some books together.

We met Nana at the cemetery where Grandpere is buried, and sent up some balloons to him for Father's Day.

We also had dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's house, and you had fun saying "Happy Father's Day" to him.

Love,
Mom

Brother's First Communion

Dear Baby Bird,

Today was Brother's First Communion.

Two handsome boys!
Aunt Karina and Uncle Jake came to church with us. You did a great job sitting through a lot of the service. You especially liked hearing "Jason play saxophone" and waving the crepe paper every time we said the word Spirit.
We had lunch in Madison and explored the botanical gardens there. You loved the water fountains.
Mostly you just liked following Brother along the trails.
We saw a frog in this pond and you really liked making a noise like it. You also kept telling us "Frog Bite Me" which we know wasn't true.
You were a bit worried that the birds and rhino (?) might want to eat the stick you were holding.  But I think overall you had a great time!
Love,
Mom

Big Boy Bed

Dear Baby Bird,

Tonight was a special night for you. We took the side off your crib and you are starting to sleep in a big boy bed.

You were very excited, and although you weren't so sure when bedtime finally came, it didn't take long for you to fall asleep.

Sweet dreams.
Love,
Mom

Peek-a-bloom

Dear Baby Bird,

You and Brother are great helpers around the yard. Today we admired our amazing iris plants.

Brother had a soccer tournament this weekend and you were a great fan! They had activities for you to do (you called them "big guys" because I warned you not to go in front of where the big guys were kicking the balls) and you also enjoyed sitting by us and cheering for the team.
 Checking out Brother's medal
 Your hero
Love,
Mom
