Outdoors

Dear Baby Bird,
Finally, the warm weather has arrived!

You took full advantage of the beautiful sunny days, by spending as much time outside as possible. We even ate outside when we could.

On Wednesday, Grandma and Grandpa took you for a bike ride. You loved it and talked about it a lot afterward!

Today, Dad came home from work and took you on a hiking adventure. You saw bikes and runners and birds and had a great time.

Dear Baby Bird,

Today was Memorial Day. It's a vacation day, and a day to spend time with our family and friends, but it's also a day to celebrate and remember our soldiers.

We went to the parade and stood to salute the many brave soldiers who walked by.

We took you and Brother to the cemetery to see the flags on the graves of soldiers.

Break for Fun

Dear Baby Bird,

While we mostly stayed home for the PT weekend, we did take a few breaks to go enjoy the beautiful weather.

Always running!

But sometimes stopping to look at something and think about it.

We decided to rent a fun bike and ride around the river. You and Brother both had bells to ring, and you LOVED it when we went down hills or when Daddy drove us side to side.

It was a very fun way to spend a beautiful evening!

The past two days, you've been spending time learning how to use the potty.

We played a lot, inside and out.
Baseball, swords, chalk, marbles, Play-dough, card games

Beach with Buddies

Dear Baby Bird,

Today was an adventure day for all of us! Brother and Dad left to see Blue Man Group in Chicago, so you and I decided to have a fun day of our own.

We spent the morning at the zoo, where your favorite animals where once again the Hippo and Rhino (This time we actually saw them, though. Last time you talked about them but we didn't see them).

After nap, we decided to go to the beach. We brought our neighbors along and all three of you had a great time digging in the sand, dumping water, and running around.

I think we're going to have a lot of fun at the beach this summer!

Mother's Weekend

Dear Baby Bird,

Sunday was Mother's Day, but we really celebrated the whole weekend long!

Saturday morning you and I made our first trip to the local farmer's market.

After Brother's soccer game, we decided to go to the nursery and get some plants.
We chose two raspberry plants, and I worked hard to get a place ready for them. I can't wait until we can run down there and pick berries right off the bush!

Nana started buying me plants like this for Mother's Day, and so now you and Dad and Brother continue the tradition. This year, you helped dad with the planting... they turned out great!

Mommy Day

Dear Baby Bird,
Most Mondays, we go to the gym and the grocery store, and do any errands or cleaning that didn't get done over the weekend.

But THIS Monday, I decided that you and I needed a day all about fun. So we went to the zoo!

The drive to the zoo is under construction, so it was very exciting to see all the diggers at work... and then when we pulled in the parking lot, you got to see some of them up close and busy at work.

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa, we had tickets for rides on the carousel and train. We rode the carousel twice! You chose this deer the first time, and the "raf" (giraffe) the second time.
