Fun Family Party

Dear Baby Bird,

What a busy day! As soon as the egg hunt was over, your cousins arrived! We were celebrating Brooklyn's Golden Birthday!
You convinced Nana to read your pre-nap story.
When you woke up, there was a chocolate fountain, and an edible craft with peeps and graham crackers.
Just as much fun to take apart and eat as it was to assemble.
 Love,
Mom

Hunting for Eggs

Dear Baby Bird,

One of the traditions which I'm proud to have brought to our neighborhood from my childhood is the Easter Egg Hunt.

It's so great to have everyone finally outside and together again after a long winter!

The big kids (like Brother) ran off to the front yard, leaving lots of eggs for you and your friends.

Always fun to see what's inside.
 And of course, the food!

But most of all, the friends.

Mom

Madison Day Trip

Dear Baby Bird,

Finally, everyone is healthy, our schedule is open, and it's a beautiful day! (Well, actually it's pretty cold and kind of windy, but the other things are true.) The perfect day for a trip to Madison!

We went first to the Children's Museum.
I can't believe we've never been there before, or even noticed the cool signs outside, just a block from the capital.
One of your favorite attractions was right inside the door, we could adjust the water to shoot balls up and through a track.

The whole place was full of things to try and play and do and explore!

Next we walked around a little bit, ducked inside the Overture Center to warm up and enjoy our packed lunches, and then wandered through the Capital building.

A very fun day!

Love,
Mom

Ear tubes

Dear Baby Bird,

Today you got tubes in your ears. You chose your toys and cuddle friend to bring with you.

Since you couldn't eat anything, we decided to go to Menards and walk around to keep you entertained. You liked opening every door, fridge, and cabinet.

We found a nice bench swing for a rest.

Then into the doctor, you just walked right in and started talking to the ladies at the desk.

You were very patient while we waited in the room. Here are your doctor clothes, and the dinosaur they gave you.

The nurse said you talked to her the whole way to the room, and when you lay down, you got comfy and put your hands behind your head, relaxed as could be.  We brought you home and you wanted to watch Toy Story and cuddle with Pengy (He was your first choice of a cuddle friend, but mom said he was too big for the doctor's office).

Now you are back to your old self, wanting to play soccer and read books. We are so proud of you!

Mom

So many interesting things

Dear Baby Bird,

There are so many fun and interesting things to learn about!

You are picking up French:

We're cheering for Duke Basketball

You love to tell us that it's Pie Day.  And during church this week you turned to me and said "Mom, is this Irish music?"

In like a lion, out like a lamb

Dear Baby Bird,

March started out still pretty cold. You were getting tired of hats, and wanted to wear this hat to the store.... then we saw a fire truck in the parking lot so we went to check it out and take a photo.

The snow is starting to melt, and you're eager to get the toys out and play with them.

Melting snow in the spring means it's time for rain boots again. Splashing puddles, finding sticks and collecting rocks.

It even got warm enough to melt all the snow and not need our jackets. You were playing restaurant and offering me all sorts of goodies.

Love,
Mom

Fun with Mrs. Nancy

Dear Baby Bird,

Brother had a day off of school, so we took a trip to visit Mrs. Nancy today.  She took us to a Children's Museum, where you got to play store.

The best part was the fire truck!

We played outside at a playground.

You got to run through a shipwreck.

We ate lunch at Pizza Ranch and had a great visit. You tell everyone we meet about how much fun you had!

Love,
Mom
