Trick or Treat

Dear Baby Bird,
Happy Halloween!

You really loved wearing your costume, it fit perfectly and meant you didn't need to wear a coat. You also liked looking at Brother's mask (he was Jengo Fett from Star Wars and you were a donkey, maybe even Eeyore.)

Every year we take a picture with your neighbor friends before starting to trick-or-treat. This year we only got half of the neighbors because of the rain, but look at what great friends you have already.

It rained on us, but you didn't let that stop the fun. You liked going up to the doors, especially if they had dogs inside to look at. Although you didn't say anything besides "hi," you didn't mind taking the candy people handed to you.

We came home and had dinner with friends. Their son was celebrating his first Halloween in the United States, you two had fun playing together and looking at each others' costumes.

Holidays sure are fun with you, each year it's a new experience of things for you to see and learn and do.

Pumpkin Carving

Dear Baby Bird,
Tonight we carved our pumpkin. The pumpkin was so tall that you had to stand to reach inside, and even then, you couldn't get to the bottom.

 You had a lot of fun pulling out the slimy seeds and 'guts' and putting them into a bowl, though you also liked flinging them around, onto Dad's shirt, the table, the floor, etc....

You like the finished product, although the thing you seem to like best is the removable top. Maybe because it's just at eye level. :)

When Mom is away....

Dear Baby Bird,

This weekend, Brother and I went to New Orleans to visit very special friends. You got to have a special weekend of your own!

You spent two nights at Grandma and Grandpa's house, and I know you had a lot of fun because Grandma was worn out!!

Then you had alone time with Daddy, and he took you to see your cousin's football game.

Looks like you got some chocolate donuts, too.

It was hard to be away from you for so long, but when we saw each other again, you just smiled and said "Mama," and I was glad to be home again.

Outside/Inside

Dear Baby Bird,
Lately it is pretty cold outside, especially in the mornings.

You like picking out a hat to wear, and usually you insist on these mittens, too.

Sometimes you even wear them inside. I'm impressed by the things you can pick up and play with while wearing mittens.
