Growing So Big!

Dear Baby Bird,

I can't even believe how the time has flown, and how big you are getting. Before we know it we're going to be celebrating your 3rd birthday!

This weekend we did potty training. It was much easier than I expected, and you had a lot of success the first day, and no accidents after the second morning.
You were especially proud of your nerf gun prize.
Daddy gave you a big guy haircut out on the deck.
You rode your trike to keep up with the big kids
 Helped me in the garden
 Played with neighbor friends
And then got a big boy bike. You can already pedal it around the driveway, I can't even believe it!
So proud of you for all you so joyfully accomplish and try.

Love,
Mom

Easter Sunday

Dear Baby Bird,

Happy Easter! We met everyone at church, and afterward we took some family photos outside. It was a beautiful day to be outside!

Finally, photos were done and we let you inside. The Easter Bunny had come to Aunt Karina's house! Lots of fun things in those baskets.
After enjoying a few treats, you headed out to look for eggs.
Brother found an egg that had been chewed through by a squirrel!
 Look at those baskets!

Back inside to empty out the goodies.
After a delicious lunch, we started for home. We stopped in Dubuque to stretch our legs. You saw this former mine entrance and were convinced there were monsters inside. But you still wanted Daddy to knock!
What a great trip! You boys were both such wonderful travelers.

Love,
Mom

Fun times in Des Moines

Dear Baby Bird,

We visited Aunt Karina and Uncle Jake this weekend. This morning we went to an Easter Egg Hunt. You were pretty proud of the candy you found inside your eggs, but you were also very willing to share with everyone.
And you had a lot of people to share with! Look at that cheering section.
 Meeting the Easter Bunny.

After the Egg Hunt we went to the sculpture garden downtown.  A quick cousin photo with Annie and Trevor in front of the letter man.
After an amazing brunch and nap, we went to the park to play basketball and funnelball.
Then home to watch Duke basketball.
Love,
Mom

A quick family visit

Dear Baby Bird,

Today we stopped to visit your great-great aunt Millie. You enjoyed showing her your toys, and playing with her trains.
Dad and Millie went through a lot of her old pictures. This is one of my favorites, that is Millie with her sister, your great-grandma Heiserman (My Grandma). Don't they look like good friends? When I was younger we would visit and they would always be together. Really special.
We stopped to visit your third cousins (great-grandkids of the two lovely ladies above). It's hard to get 5 of you to sit still and look at the camera!

It sure is neat to get to know family!

Love,
Mom
